What are ISIC Codes?

The International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) is the coding system used by the Saudi Ministry of Commerce to classify business activities. Your CR will list specific 4-digit codes (e.g., 6201) which determine your scope of work, ability to import goods, and Saudization requirements.

Scope of Work

You cannot invoice for services outside your registered codes.

Visa Quota

Some activities (like Contracting) get higher visa quotas than others.

Bank Compliance

Banks block transfers if the invoice description doesn’t match your CR.

Activity FAQs

Can I add more activities later?

Yes. You can add activities to your CR at any time via the Ministry of Commerce portal, provided they fall under the same license type (e.g., Service vs. Trading).

Do I need a separate license for Trading and Services?

Yes. MISA separates licenses. If you want to sell hardware AND provide software consulting, you typically need two separate licenses or a specific “Mixed” setup.

What if my activity isn’t listed?

There is usually a generic “Other” code, but it is better to find the closest ISIC match. We can help you map your business model to the correct Saudi legal definition.

Unsure About Your Code?

Selecting the wrong activity can cost you months of delays. Let our consultants map your business model to the correct ISIC codes.
